The year 1999 was supposedly the greatest year of contemporary cinema. I can’t prove that anyone said that, but I can spend 30mins talking to Jeff Newman about it.

  1. For all who believe that The Matrix was the first movie to use that technique (as was suggested in this episode):

    • Did they shoot that the same way Wachowski Bros did? To me, that looks like a 100% computer generated shot as opposed to tons of cameras in a circle.

      Actually, the larger issue is that you remember this as a scene in Lost in Space. Lost in Space, Robbie… really??

      • Lost in Space? I don’t remember anything from Lost in Space ::looks around, hopes nobody notices::

        I meant to say that I remember Michel Gondry using it in this kick ass Smirnoff ad from 1998. Yeah. That’s it:

  2. Audio came through okay, all things considered. IMDB lists Rushmore as 1998, though it was released in February of 1999.
